How our founders met

Founded in 1999, our family-run restaurant has been serving authentic Sicilian and Northern Italian cuisine for over 26 years. The story began long before that—our roots trace back to Sicily and the Bronx, where generations of our family learned the art of Italian cooking.

Our recipes come straight from Grandma Natalie, who immigrated from Sicily in the 1960s. Her traditions, care, and flavor live on in every dish we serve. We still make everything to order—from hand-rolled meatballs to sautéed seafood—and our menu reflects both lighter Sicilian fare and rich Northern Italian comfort dishes.

At Terrazzo, we believe in family, heritage, and food that speaks for itself.

From working at our grandparents' restaurant, The Italian Riviera in New York, to opening Alessio Pizzeria and Pizza Bistro, food has always been the center of our family. In 1996, we brought that passion down to North Carolina, where Pizza Bistro became a downtown staple. Three years later, we opened Terrazzo, and we've been proudly serving the Wilmington community ever since.
